Card drafting games are games in which players pick cards from a limited subset, such as a common pool, to gain some advantage (immediate or longterm) or to assemble hands of cards that are used to meet objectives within the game.
Card Drafting
Hand management games are games with cards in them that reward players for playing the cards in certain sequences or groups. The optimal sequence/grouping may vary, depending on board position, cards held and cards played by opponents. Managing your hand means gaining the most value out of available cards under given circumstances. Cards often have multiple uses in the game, further obfuscating an "optimal" sequence.

Neat, plays fast and easy - Lovely Artwork. Requires some practice in order to achieve a bunch of points, since 2 actions are quite restrictive.
AnalyzerOfGames
Despite the theme, it's quite a bit more bland and mathy than I'd been hoping. It fits an uncomfortable spot between something like Isle of Trains and Gloom. The economic engine is a little too tight to really be very fun, and the game plays a bit too solitaire-ish and numerical to really take advantage of the theme. It doesn't have anything like Isle of Trains' player synergy, and while the sheds seem like they should give a bit of engine building potential, the bonuses are too small, you get too few of them, and it's very difficult to get synergy between them, due to a general difficulty in getting what you're aiming for. Maybe with more plays you'd get a handle on the economic ebb and flow of the game and how to better angle for the things you want, but I'd still say that you're better to buy Isle of Trains or one of the Fleet games than to get this one. Gloom has you swapping around good and modifiers, playing pranks, making the occasional big move by stringing cards together, etc. Bloody Inn doesn't have any of that. Here, I figured out that I could have really dicked everyone over by plugging their sheds with murdered peasants, but that's really the only thing you can do interactive in the game and I feel like there would be no winners if people started to play that way. There's no jokes on the cards, macabre nor otherwise. The only secondary mechanism in the game is swapping cash-on-hand for checks, so there's nothing else in the game to try and bring life to the theme. Overall, this game is fine. But I'd suggest going for something better. The only reason to purchase it is the theme, and that's not a winning argument when Gloom exists.

Wrapping your head around the concept of needing X number of cards to murder someone, X more cards to build a place to bury them, and X more cards to actually bury them, all before you're investigated by the police can take a while. For as simple as the rules are, the game requires a surprising amount of thought and planning. Not as light as it would seem, but is a very interesting game.
