In Action Point (AP) Allowance System games, each player is allotted a certain amount of points per round. These points can be spent on available actions, until the player does not have enough remaining to "purchase" any more actions.
Action Point Allowance System
Hand management games are games with cards in them that reward players for playing the cards in certain sequences or groups. The optimal sequence/grouping may vary, depending on board position, cards held and cards played by opponents. Managing your hand means gaining the most value out of available cards under given circumstances. Cards often have multiple uses in the game, further obfuscating an "optimal" sequence.
Hand Management
The simultaneous action selection mechanic lets players secretly choose their actions. After they are revealed, the actions resolve following the rule-set of the game.

My first game from Martin Wallace. I love the game and the game system. Only few flaws are that they need better rulebook and a little better artwork for cards .

Couldn't resist a Martin Wallace creation double discounted from £35 to £15 - 30% = £10.50 brand new! With its high fantasy theme, I've never been more enchanted by the Emerald Isle.

The colours are printed really badly - some tactics tiles depict territory colours, but can't guess which one the sky-blue one refers to. Sleeved the cards since I happened to have spare sleeves, and the income cards are thin card, and a bit tricky to shuffle otherwise. In a 4-player game, the most aggressive player won. One player was trying hard to avoid corruption, but I had heard that the formoni rarely gain the upper hand in a 4-player game (as turned out here). Played most of a 3-player game (pub closed early after 3 rounds) - the formoni were clearly overrunning us, and I happened to have to have the lowest corruption at that point, but more luck than judgement. Must try this again... Have drafted quick-setup / scoring summary in the files section - not easy to find things quickly in the rulebook.
