Dice rolling in a game can be used for many things, randomness being the most obvious. Dice can also be used as counters. The dice themselves can be unique and different sizes, shapes and colors to represent different things.

[The Op 21 edition] {Star Wars; dice-rolling, variable-player-power; optimal 4p} Star Wars Talisman is a good Star Wars game using Talisman system. Player interaction is good as players can fight each other and compete for different objects and confidants. I particularly like the design choice that includes characters from the 3 trilogies and TV series. Setup takes some time; however, the game can be played instantly even for new players because we can teach the game as we played. We only need to teach the encounter sequence for mid region. The production is good. The board is large and sturdy. There are many nice player and encounter cards. The dice is pretty. The player dials look a little weak, though, as they are not firm enough to hold the dials from moving.

Oh my ... one of my favorite games ever AND one of my favorite franchises ever ... this should have been my new kind of awesome! Read here why it is not (quite): [thread=2607198][/thread]

Really enjoyed the Talisman Star Wars. Sadly the rulebook doesn't tell you much. It took some time and finally we're able to play the game without interruptions. Highly Reccomended for a HardCore Star Wars Fan like myself.
