Card drafting games are games in which players pick cards from a limited subset, such as a common pool, to gain some advantage (immediate or longterm) or to assemble hands of cards that are used to meet objectives within the game.
Card Drafting
Hand management games are games with cards in them that reward players for playing the cards in certain sequences or groups. The optimal sequence/grouping may vary, depending on board position, cards held and cards played by opponents. Managing your hand means gaining the most value out of available cards under given circumstances. Cards often have multiple uses in the game, further obfuscating an "optimal" sequence.

I suppose it should have been obvious. I dislike many co-operative games because they seem too much like us against the system puzzles. I dislike many cube pushers for their solitaire-ish feel. It was kind of inevitable that I wouldn't enjoy a game like Sylvion, designed for solo play. Sylvion appears a well designed game. As in a good coop, the system ratchets up the pressure as the game progresses. There are also options to adjust the level of difficulty. Thematically, the struggle of fire versus the forest and its wildlife works. I just feel no desire to play it again. The childlike and surreal character of the artwork is appealing. Production quality is good, although, as others have commented, the box insert favours style over function. The rules are clear and an easy read.

[microbadge=34746] I can definitely appreciate the design here, but for me, Aerion, Nautilion and Castellion all rank higher - I think it's mostly just a personal preference for dice and tiles over purely card-centric games.

Not sure why I only have 1 play of this. Takes a fair bit of room which might be the reason. Need to give it a fair shake. In the solo queue.
