This mechanic requires you to place a bid, usually monetary, on items in an auction of goods in order to enhance your position in the game. These goods allow players future actions or improve a position. The auction consists of taking turns placing bids on a given item until one winner is established, allowing the winner to take control of the item being bid on. Usually there is a game rule that helps drop the price of the items being bid on if no players are interested in the item at its current price.
Auction/Bidding
Dice rolling in a game can be used for many things, randomness being the most obvious. Dice can also be used as counters. The dice themselves can be unique and different sizes, shapes and colors to represent different things.

Rating of 9 based on one play, but this game earns every point. The bidding for shifting alliances is pure genius. Typical Wallace management of negative attributes, which I love. UPDATE: After some thought following a second play, I'm lowering my rating a point to 8. I love it, but the game is just soul-crushing, and because of that I can't see wanting to play too often. Still, amazing design. The rules for crossing the rope are inspired. UPDATE2 (Dec '13): Back to 9 after play No. 3. I did terribly, but had a great time playing. It's a clever game.

Deep and tense, original the alliance system. I played a 7 players game, very enjioing, can be useful a card list for every player during the first game. Another must !

Rating based on two full plays. Very promising game, although the rules are some of the least elegant I've seen.
