Dice rolling in a game can be used for many things, randomness being the most obvious. Dice can also be used as counters. The dice themselves can be unique and different sizes, shapes and colors to represent different things.
Dice Rolling
The primary goal of a set collection mechanic is to encourage a player to collect a set of items.
Set Collection
In games with a trading mechanic, the players can exchange game items between each other.
Trading
This mechanism requires players to select individual actions from a set of actions available to all players. Players generally select actions one-at-a-time and in turn order. There is usually(*) a limit on the number of times a single action may be taken. Actions are commonly selected by the placement of game pieces or tokens on the selected actions. Each player usually has a limited number of pieces with which to participate in the process.

Base the Bass
I love the new huts. This expansion adds to the stone age feel another strategy path that fits very well to the original mechanics. However, it does not add any major differences, e.g. you don't 'make' the jewelery for points, as was my understanding from reading the description briefly. You just gather the jewelery instead of food. Jewelery is a new sub-resource that you can use to buy a card or trade for any resource, like gold. To be able to trade you have to invest in the trader, which will hurt your food production. Strategically it is a sound expansion. I however expected a complex system where you would create the jewelery out of the different materials, instead of just building huts them.

Tooth jewels? Rubies would have been easier if not thematic perhaps. I didn't need to focus on this new obstacle, did try a few things and they can combo but not for me www.youtube.com/amassgames BGA
