Card drafting games are games in which players pick cards from a limited subset, such as a common pool, to gain some advantage (immediate or longterm) or to assemble hands of cards that are used to meet objectives within the game.
Card Drafting
Dice rolling in a game can be used for many things, randomness being the most obvious. Dice can also be used as counters. The dice themselves can be unique and different sizes, shapes and colors to represent different things.
Dice Rolling
This mechanic usually requires players to pick up an item or good at one location on the playing board and bring it to another location on the playing board. Initial placement of the item can be either predetermined or random. The delivery of the good usually gives the player money to do more actions with. In most cases, there is a game rule or another mechanic that determines where the item needs to go.
Pick-up and Deliver
Maneuvers that directly attack an opposing player's strength, level, life points or do something else to impede their progress.

Initial Impressions: ---------------------- What a neat dice game! This one is short enough to be a filler, but has enough replayability and meaty choices to stick around for awhile. The quality of this initial production isn't fantastic, but overall all the components work fine. Not sure how this scales yet, but 3p works really well. Looking forward to many more plays of this (and I will need to get a copy!)

Cute but way over-priced for dice and a pad of paper. The free P&P 30 Rails is as good, and Railroad Ink is much deeper. But we bought SteamRollers anyway. Hope to make maps for Netherlands, Centre County PA, etc.

Route building repackaged as a roll and write. With the special power tiles, dice selection, and turn order binding, there's some hints of Steam's combination of route building and role selection. Unfortunately, the implementation manages to up the tedium via incremental turns; adds a layer, via the dice, that results in players having less control; lessens legibility via the separated player boards; and provides little to no leeching of opponents' efforts. Why are we playing this again and not any of the other Steam or Winsome-related titles? Poor; quite poor.
