Card drafting games are games in which players pick cards from a limited subset, such as a common pool, to gain some advantage (immediate or longterm) or to assemble hands of cards that are used to meet objectives within the game.
Card Drafting
Dice rolling in a game can be used for many things, randomness being the most obvious. Dice can also be used as counters. The dice themselves can be unique and different sizes, shapes and colors to represent different things.
Dice Rolling
This mechanic usually requires players to pick up an item or good at one location on the playing board and bring it to another location on the playing board. Initial placement of the item can be either predetermined or random. The delivery of the good usually gives the player money to do more actions with. In most cases, there is a game rule or another mechanic that determines where the item needs to go.
Pick-up and Deliver
Maneuvers that directly attack an opposing player's strength, level, life points or do something else to impede their progress.

Think of Steam or Age of Steam, doesn't matter which. (NO!, it doesn't.) Then create a dice version out of it. (YES, that's fun. You there, 18xx-fanboi. Yes, you. Out!) And the result would be SteamRollers. I had my eye on this title ever since it came out in a bland cardboard box; I didn't purchase it then. With an official release now imminent I had my wife play this game, and her exact words were I like this. We must get a copy. How do we do that? It'll be a while before we can play, but hey, it'll be like Christmas all over again. Update The game is providing us with nice dicing and some cute annoying plays. It's not stellar, but it does scratch a little of the build a track and transport stuff across it-itch.

$10 BGG Trains Card Drafting Dice Rolling Paper-and-Pencil Pick-up and Deliver Route/Network Building

I heard really good things about this game when looking up roll and writes. I'm not a real big fan of train pick up and deliver games apparently. Nice to go to try a quicker and easier version than a really complicated ones. The game is a bit of a puzzle and building the routes is pretty fun. there is not a whole lot of interaction other than cubes disappearing from the main board. It is enjoyable, there is a little bit of set up and take down, and the games are fairly short. I just think there are better roll and write games, and better two-player games.
