Card drafting games are games in which players pick cards from a limited subset, such as a common pool, to gain some advantage (immediate or longterm) or to assemble hands of cards that are used to meet objectives within the game.
Card Drafting
Dice rolling in a game can be used for many things, randomness being the most obvious. Dice can also be used as counters. The dice themselves can be unique and different sizes, shapes and colors to represent different things.

Chronically under-rated, probably because it skews a little light. Never had anyone who disliked the game and had many people go out and buy it for their own collections. One of two games that is ALWAYS in my "go" bag.

This combines elements of two of my families favorite games - Splendor and Qwixx. I love the variety of ships and abilities and there is a surprising level of variation in how to win. I really like that everyone is engaged even when it is not your turn. The dice add an element of randomness, so it won’t be for everyone. For me, though, that just makes the game more accessible for a wider range of player abilities. That’s great for me since I often game with my kids.

Well there's other roll dice games and get stuff, but this one is my favorite. Space theme - sure, got that and it's ok. What really makes it work is the engine feel that is always rewarding - albeit at times way more than others. You play the odds and eventually make all the values sing for you. It feels really good and is relatively easy to play - with a bit of challenging iconography on the more complex aspects.
