Hand management games are games with cards in them that reward players for playing the cards in certain sequences or groups. The optimal sequence/grouping may vary, depending on board position, cards held and cards played by opponents. Managing your hand means gaining the most value out of available cards under given circumstances. Cards often have multiple uses in the game, further obfuscating an "optimal" sequence.
Hand Management
Play occurs upon a modular board that is composed of multiple pieces, often tiles or cards. In many games, board placement is randomized, leading to different possibilities for strategy and exploration. Some games in this category have multiple boards which are not used simultaneously, preserving table space. Unused boards remain out of play until they are required.

Bog standard resource conversion Euro, where you do exactly the same things for 16 turns. Pretty board that’s a little physically fiddly in practice, and the card with a hole in it gimmick is a novel way to create a multi use card. Only 45 minutes though, so can see it wouldn’t outstay its welcome if you like this sort of thing in the first place

This wins my "most disappointing game of BGG 2018" award that I just made up right now. I was looking forward to this game, as I appreciate the designer and the art, but the game just fell flat. It's a chaos euro, but more the former. It's got very little in the way of strategy and almost entirely tactics, which can be fine, but the lack of planning is rough. Also the rulebook was a bit rough, in that it has two things that happen 'immediately' but it doesn't mention which immediate resolves first. We played with the Winter Variant with skill tiles (I'd rather play the 'full' game than not most of the time). Would not play again. One of the other 4 players who likes theme and chaos really enjoyed it though, so it's not a 'bad' game obviously. But it seems more like they designed a 'crazy party chaos game' that just happened to have euro mechanics to me.

A novelty of a mechanism ("moving" and changing game board) with a very basic gather resources and fulfil orders game.
