Dice rolling in a game can be used for many things, randomness being the most obvious. Dice can also be used as counters. The dice themselves can be unique and different sizes, shapes and colors to represent different things.

Very cool expansion, the new board changes up the game a bit, without being extra complex. The new races and powers are cool, the only downside is, that one ability only works, if you play with the new board.
Fat Tony
An extremely fun Small World variant. In our first time playing, we had a guy play the Zeppelin Wendigos for the entire game. He tied for first!
Bombadillo
The first board expansion that also happens to be a valuable addition to Small World: in fact I can’t stand Riverworld, find Underground pointless (map included) and dislike how tiles wedge in Realms, as the unmatchable fronts and backs prevent players from mixing regular Small World regions with Underground’s. On the contrary, there are at least three reasons why Sky Islands is such a valuable expansion: 1) it comes with several new races and powers - a good half of which are either fun or powerful - and we all know there’s never enough races and power in Small World; 2) the new board adds a layer of complexity and interaction, just enough to upset the usual strategies; 3) the game can now accommodate up to six players.
