SHCD combines my love of literature with my enjoyment when solving mysteries/puzzles, and was just a ton of fun for me. I played all 10 cases solo because I enjoyed it so much after playing the first case that I couldn't wait to keep playing. Creating this game must have been a labour of love. I can't imagine how difficult it is to come up with even one of these cases, let alone ten + expansions. I'm in awe of what the authors have accomplished with this game. With that said, it does have some flaws. Typos, unsatisfying solutions that make you want to punch Sherlock, and (perhaps inevitably) some weaker cases. Despite its flaws, one of my favourite games of all time and I will buy all of the reprinted expansions as soon as they come out. Note : It is best played as an activity and not a game. Don't try to compete with Sherlock, just enjoy each case and try to visit as many locations as you can to get as much of the texture of each scenario as possible. Don't worry about your score, just be happy if you are able to solve the case. Some of the cases I found really challenging.

The holy grail for murder mystery fans. An enjoyably different gaming experience - grab some wine and nibbles and settle in for an evening of laid-back puzzling. The time on the box is a downright lie. Allow 2-4 hours depending on how leisurely the pace you want to take is. And with 10 cases in the box, I'd recommend savouring them.

Didn't like it that much for some reason...everybody else was having fun though. Going to try it 2 player at some point to see if the rating goes up.
