Card drafting games are games in which players pick cards from a limited subset, such as a common pool, to gain some advantage (immediate or longterm) or to assemble hands of cards that are used to meet objectives within the game.
Card Drafting
Dice rolling in a game can be used for many things, randomness being the most obvious. Dice can also be used as counters. The dice themselves can be unique and different sizes, shapes and colors to represent different things.
Dice Rolling
Games using the line drawing mechanic involve the drawing of lines in one way or another. Lines may be used to connect objects as in Sprouts, to isolate objects, or to create areas as in the classic Dots and Dashes, also known as Square-it.

I like this more than the similar Railroad Ink, but the scoring is time consuming, in particular the buildings. You may have 40 or more to count, and they are of all shapes and sizes.

The rules are poorly written with several errors that make the games more difficult to understand that it needs to be.

Seven bridges is my first foray into roll'n'write games, and I can only only hope that other roll'n'writes provide the same level of quality of design. The game fits into my sort of category; a nice hook to real life (Leonard Euhler's solution to the Seven bridges mathematical problem about crossing the aforementioned bridges in the town of Konisberg), and it's nice and easy to learn but with lots of decisions to make based on the rolls you get. As others have mentioned, playing solo against Euhler is not as easy as you think; there are many ways to score points and Euhler scoops up the points you drop for not crossing bridges, visiting landmarks, passing buildings, seeing trees and other scoring types. It helps that most of the scoring such as building and trees have been neatly designed on the map so that there are 100 buildings & 100 trees to pass; other scoring is based on 80 or 70; nice rounded values to help with end game scoring. As previously said, this has the hallmarks of my sort of game; easy to learn, quick play time (about 15 - 30 minutes depending on your level of AP), nice depth of play, and a solo AI that is not that easy to beat (a few games in and still no win!).
