On an ocean world, even enemies must play fair. You and your rival compete for control of the four flotillas, the last remnant of old Earth. Strike cunning deals, build stable ground, and clean the ocean. Then, you will truly lead Seastead!
With the survival of humanity in the balance, sabotaging your rival outright would put too much at risk! So in Seastead, many of your actions will also help your opponent; you just have to make sure you don’t help them too much.
Each turn, you either dive to gain resources or build a building from your player mat with your resources. Whenever you dive, you draw a card with two different resource collections from which to choose, with the resources you don’t pick going to your opponent! When you construct a building, add it to one of the four central flotilla tiles, opening up bonuses and abilities — just try to use them before your opponent can!
Seastead contains double-sided flotilla tiles, a variety of specialist cards, and multiple building paths to create endless strategies to explore!

Not as many choices and not much to make games different from one game to the next. An ok game, but nothing is drawing me back.

Just watched the bgg live with Steph, Zev, and Lincoln manipulating the play area. So excited this has solo, and works great for two. I am curious to see how diving works 8n solo, so I will check out the rules if available to see. It looks like it has a lot of things I like, and new, to me anyway, to broaden my gaming experience. I love the concept of this world, but the 3p minimum on Flotilla didn't work for me. If the solo rules seem good, then this will be a must buy. Will update after a rules read. Update: I skimmed through the game rules (as I'd watched the live bgg half hour on this and learned most of the gist of how it plays), and then read the 2 pages of solo rules, and looked through the handy icons reference on the back. I love all the examples. I love that it's clear, and the twice I had a question about something, going to a section I thought would cover it, answered the question I had. The solo rules do say be familiar with the regular game rules before plaing solo. I love that they say this; I tend to play most soloable games that play 2 player at least as well, two handed at least once or twice to get a handle on the refular rules first, even for small games. Here, while I wouldn't call the rules complex, I'd even call them more streamlined for a game of this type than I'd expect, which is awesome, there are such a variety of things to think about, process, and consider, that for me, with the fibro brain fog I get sometimes to varying degrees, I think for myself I'll probably play 2 sided regular rules at least 4 times, before playing solo rules. Experienced gamers without issues like mine, my guess is 1-2 plays of the regular game would do you. I don't get the sense that I'd need to replay 2 handed all the time before soloing, when it goes awhile between plays, but if it goes two years, then I might once (I tend to play a lot of variety, at sometimes wildly varying intervals from months to years, depending on my health issues, mood, etc.). I sometimes go a year without playing my favorite game, to give you some context. Sorry so long, but this is a must buy for me (though it is going on my Christmas list, it's a definite self- birthday option shortly after that if Christmas doesn't gift it!)

New 2 player game coming out later this year. I played a mod on TTS with one of the designers, Jan, and it was great. Simple streamlined rules with more depth from the combos and bonuses you can get from the actions you do. A lot of replay value with the variety of cards and flotilla sides you can choose to play with. I can't wait for the final product.
