Hand management games are games with cards in them that reward players for playing the cards in certain sequences or groups. The optimal sequence/grouping may vary, depending on board position, cards held and cards played by opponents. Managing your hand means gaining the most value out of available cards under given circumstances. Cards often have multiple uses in the game, further obfuscating an "optimal" sequence.
Hand Management
The primary goal of a set collection mechanic is to encourage a player to collect a set of items.
Set Collection
Tile Placement games feature placing a piece to score VPs, with the amount often based on adjacent pieces or pieces in the same group/cluster, and keying off non-spatial properties like color, "feature completion", cluster size etc.

Very good strategy game. Impressive game components, especially considering the interesting price tag attached to it.

I played one very short game. You place your pieces around tokens to score points fun but the game can end very fast, it felt like the game I played ended prematurely.

This is a cool game, but it's so dry. I feel nothing while I play it. I have the computer version and feel that it's a much more enjoyable experience that way. I'd rather play something else face-to-face. UPDATE: traded in "Another lovely math trade" run by rak5632, receieved Amun-Re, Gloom and Gloom: Unhappy Homes.
