On the hill of Al-Sabika in Granada, the Nasrid dynasty created one of the most impressive constructions in history, the Alhambra.
In Sabika, you play the role of one of the Nasrid nobles who contributed to the construction of the towers, gardens, and palaces of this ancient monument. In addition to this honorable task, you have to establish trade routes through Europe and the Maghreb. These routes will provide you with sufficient income to be able to take on the demanding tribute that has been commanded by the Catholic Monarchs. In exchange for your work, you will receive military protection against the various conflicts of the Taifas Kingdom.
Sabika implements a novel mechanism that integrates three interrelated rondels. Each rondel focuses on a different scenario: the construction of the Alhambra, the carving of poems in its halls, and the export of goods along the trade routes. All of this takes place over five eras (rounds), and at the end of the fifth round, the player who has accumulated the most prestige points takes the victory.

Just a wonderful mid/heavy euro game. We had a blast playing it at 4 and enjoyed every turn of the game. It shares weight with Bitoku, but this one is way more elegant and straight forward. The center rondel is the core of the game in which you place/move your workers around in clockwise order. The rondel and its mechanics make this a very tight game in which every tiny decision matters. You also get to do crazy combos that are so pleasant while also not taking much time. Highly recommended!

This one is straight from the Euro-Hell, put it in a category with Cooper Island, An Age Contrived, many Feld games ... you name it. They are similar in letting me cold. Its an puzzle to solve more then a game. Here you building the Alhambra --- really ? If you build this door you can set sail afterwards. Why ? The rondel looked more interesting then it realy was, you want to have in mind the text of all displayed Poems the whole time, which feels like work. Even when I won my first game, its a disappointment.

Very tactical game. Not bad. Altought the action "circle" mechanism is too unpredictable for me. It limits your game. You need to be very aware of this.
