Dice rolling in a game can be used for many things, randomness being the most obvious. Dice can also be used as counters. The dice themselves can be unique and different sizes, shapes and colors to represent different things.

Vantastic
Has some really interesting ideas for a hybrid area control game. One thing I need to decide on is whether a player that pulls ahead can be slowed down—usually they have the resources and cards to take advantage of even losing battles to maintain a lead. Will have to see how things go with more experience.

battle game with post-apocalyptic central Asian theme looks like it draws some influence from "Blood Rage" and similar games but with neat additions The game is a bit underestimated. mechanics seem sound theme tie-ins seem decent so far (e.g. recruiting exiles) some odd color choices mediocre miniatures, but some are quite cool production quality could have been a bit better very expensive, but for the number of miniatures and artworks KS price was ok ++ mechanics (combat with dice activation, actions with bonuses from action cards, starting bonus tiles, buying advantage cards, hiring special units, special tracks with bonuses, good endgame triggers, dice mitigation, ...) + some of the miniatures 0 theme - production quality - very expensive I like the game although I'm not a fan of such post-apocalyptic themes. Somehow the mechanics seem quite good to me. The miniatures, although mediocre, are cool. I especially like the Raider miniatures. The expansion with 4 minis and a few cards should have been full part of the basegame box. That would have been better for all of us including the publisher.

Great area control game with some light resource generation. A great alternative to Blood Rage with a similar run time. Art and minis look great too.
