Dice rolling in a game can be used for many things, randomness being the most obvious. Dice can also be used as counters. The dice themselves can be unique and different sizes, shapes and colors to represent different things.

The logic puzzle is incredibly minor in the game, because it gives you a little too much information. so it becomes easy to work out which creature has which symbol and therefore, which ones you need. The boss creatures, give you the ability to see which creatures match a symbol, but by the time I fight them, I always find I've worked that out already. I think the game needs to lean more heavily into the logic puzzle - make it harder, and so you need to make more guesses. As it is, you get about three guesses (playing on hard) and that seems to be enough, because you get so much information out of each guess. I've heard the kickstarter edition adds modules which make the game more interesting. Clearly they should have been in the retail edition, because the game sorely needs it.

The game itself is fine. The cooperation is interesting with the possibility to give your cards to support other player. It has very limited replayability value, after 3 plays I feel like I every next game would be almost the same. The biggest issue is the app, which, at least for me works very badly. Sometimes I spend 5 minutes until the app recognizes the pattern.

Theme was fine, gameplay was decent. However the app was probably the worst designed app for a board game we have ever seen. It worked when it wanted to. Maybe it was the lighting where we played but added to our cull list due to the app
