In the near future, the mega-corporations of the military-industrial complex have invested trillions developing cybernetically enhanced clone soldiers for off-world exploration. Seeking to build robust teams for future missions — and more importantly, to land lucrative government contracts — they have created special training islands. On these islands, they are able to simulate all of the deadly conditions their soldiers may face on remote planets.
To fund these expensive programs and the military-grade innovations built into their test subjects, the arms manufacturers have teamed up with media moguls to create and promote broadcast competitions live from the island’s training grounds. Thus was born “RELOAD”, the biggest TV show on the planet, with the most charismatic and capable subjects competing in front of millions of avid viewers to win fame for themselves and fortunes for their creators.
In Reload, you get to engage in this battle-royale experience thanks to an innovative action dice system that offers fast-paced play and the freedom to explore the island while fighting for fame.

Good game that once learnt bounces along. But it is a deceptively tricky teach. The different iconography and some fuzzy rules means that it can be intimidating for some players. It's great fun though! the dice placement that turns into your defence on on other player's turns is great, while the points track is a neat gimmick very refreshing in board game world of dry numbered scoring. Only played free for all fighting and team so far and i think team is where it's at. Not done 2v2v2 but I think that might be the best way to play with 6 players. I'm excited to try capture the flag too. The combat is slightly fiddly but once you get to the third or fourth of a type of combat (ranged and close combat are frustratingly similar but crucially different) everyone is making decisions based on upping their attack or defence. Fab replayability as well as a large amount of cards that all look great. The different characters are different looking and have special abilities that don't feel hugely useful but do give a little boost when needed. The game is whacky and swingy enough to not need overpowered abilities to push it over the edge. Terrible rule book.

Very nice and funny battle game. New battle concept very clever. One of the best « easy and quick » battle game.

This game hits a weak spot for me. Smaller production, niche theme, duo of new designers from a publisher that has been hit and miss for me. But it does what it sets out to do so well, you can really replicate a battle royale in board game form with quick turns, easy rules -except combat-, really joyful production (yes the minis could be better but overall look cool and interesting). One of the few cases in which a KS does not deliver a unfocussed, sprawling, multiple boxes mess but gives you a game -slightly unpolished in terms of rulebook- that feels bigger than the sum of its parts and that packs a huge punch in a small foot print. I'll play this when I don't have the time or the group to play Black Rose Wars, Guards of Atlantis or other Battle Royal/MOBA style of games.
