Dice rolling in a game can be used for many things, randomness being the most obvious. Dice can also be used as counters. The dice themselves can be unique and different sizes, shapes and colors to represent different things.
Dice Rolling
Play occurs upon a modular board that is composed of multiple pieces, often tiles or cards. In many games, board placement is randomized, leading to different possibilities for strategy and exploration. Some games in this category have multiple boards which are not used simultaneously, preserving table space. Unused boards remain out of play until they are required.

Upon opening, was immediately engaged by the art and style of the tiles and cars. I expected this to be a lot like Formula D, which I didn't particularly enjoy. The modularity and the way you plan and execute the route on this was genius. As with any dice game, there is luck involved, but options of how to approach each step make this a more of a press your luck game than an all our live or die by luck, and I can live with that. Would love to play again!

Initial Impression: Wow! The components to this game are very nice. The cardboard is thick, the custom dice stand out, and even the cars themselves are a good size. I'm not much of a racing aficionado but I have to say that this game really felt like a race. Strategic decisions concerning dropping your speed in order to take a tight corner and then accelerating at the last second. Pushing your luck just to end your turn at a higher gear. Blocking your opponent's progress, choosing when to pit, ... it's a wonderful experience that makes me think this is the racing game I didn't know I was looking for. I may have to pick it up at some point to add to my collection.

Rallyman is a bit of a mix between the simple Ave Caesar and the more thinky Thunder Alley. You have to be clever in how you play your dice, and approach the circuit and the other cars on the track but it’s also about taking chances at the right times. And when someone makes a schoolboy error by exiting a corner in the wrong space it can generate a great deal of (playful) ribbing and ridicule
