Race to the New Found Land
60m - 90m
2 - 4 Players
Ages 10+
Tile Placement games feature placing a piece to score VPs, with the amount often based on adjacent pieces or pieces in the same group/cluster, and keying off non-spatial properties like color, "feature completion", cluster size etc.
Tile Placement
This mechanism requires players to select individual actions from a set of actions available to all players. Players generally select actions one-at-a-time and in turn order. There is usually(*) a limit on the number of times a single action may be taken. Actions are commonly selected by the placement of game pieces or tokens on the selected actions. Each player usually has a limited number of pieces with which to participate in the process.

Only 4 turns you have to beat your opponents in this good looking not so very original game. The iconography on the cards is not very easy to grasp but otherwise this game has simple rules. Buy ships to colonize islands, grab goods and ship them to European cities. Thematically very straightforward and convincing. On the other hand this game doesn't bring anything new to the table and could get boring after a few plays. Not sure there are many different strategies that bring you victory. The board is huge and material looks attractive. Minus: 3 (replayability?) - 5

Would much rather play Marco Polo. This game seems like everyone is basically doing the same actions and just micro optimizing them -- whereas in Marco Polo it feels like very divergent strategies are possible.
