Tile Placement games feature placing a piece to score VPs, with the amount often based on adjacent pieces or pieces in the same group/cluster, and keying off non-spatial properties like color, "feature completion", cluster size etc.
Tile Placement
This mechanism requires players to select individual actions from a set of actions available to all players. Players generally select actions one-at-a-time and in turn order. There is usually(*) a limit on the number of times a single action may be taken. Actions are commonly selected by the placement of game pieces or tokens on the selected actions. Each player usually has a limited number of pieces with which to participate in the process.

While critiques that it is both too short and too long are reasonably well founded, it is a game that actually plays quickly while incorporating a lot of great Euro dynamics. It is for that time to completion, while staying true to some interesting game mechanics, I give the score I do. Although I admit a extended version may feel more compelling.

Solid euro that plays very briskly and makes you feel like you built up to something. Played once at 2 and can see how it'll be better at 3/4 as it definitely didn't crack the issue of area majority at 2.
Badger on the move
I'm generally a fan of HiG's games. But this left me a little disappointed. One of those games where the leader is rewarded and the gap accentuated. Although mitigated by the lowering of the targets on the score track for those players behind. Curious scoring for islands whereby you are likely to score more points for your settlers if the island is left unfinished than if it is finished. Minimal player interaction. Choices felt like much of a muchness. Lead to way too much AP. Polished game, just not a lot of fun. Update after second play. Appreciate now the planning actions in the game. Everything is tight. Asymmetric start, like Marco Polo, made for interesting different challenge. Player interaction is through the timing of actions - governed by your boats speed. Two player (previously 3) and much better for it. Rating increased to 7.5 and now happy to play again.
