Hand management games are games with cards in them that reward players for playing the cards in certain sequences or groups. The optimal sequence/grouping may vary, depending on board position, cards held and cards played by opponents. Managing your hand means gaining the most value out of available cards under given circumstances. Cards often have multiple uses in the game, further obfuscating an "optimal" sequence.

I champion this as the worst game ever. I have never met a person who has been willing to play it with me after looking at the rules (or even just at one of the cards), you have so many options that you are constantly paralyzed with indecision, whenever I try to replay it with the only other person I've been able to play with we bail almost immediately, the pixel art is the bare minimum of effort (compare with Boss Monster or Pixel Glory) to the point of sometimes being unrecognizable, and the fact that it suggests playing best 2 out of 3 or 3 out of 5 is the biggest waste of time I can think of.

I LOVE this series. Every freakin' card seems overpowered and then it gets countered anyway. Deceptively deep.

A great addition to the Pixel Tactics collection, the mechanics are a bit harder, so although you can play it as a standalone your entry point should be Pixel Tactics 1
