Card drafting games are games in which players pick cards from a limited subset, such as a common pool, to gain some advantage (immediate or longterm) or to assemble hands of cards that are used to meet objectives within the game.
Card Drafting
The primary goal of a set collection mechanic is to encourage a player to collect a set of items.
Set Collection
This mechanism requires players to select individual actions from a set of actions available to all players. Players generally select actions one-at-a-time and in turn order. There is usually(*) a limit on the number of times a single action may be taken. Actions are commonly selected by the placement of game pieces or tokens on the selected actions. Each player usually has a limited number of pieces with which to participate in the process.

One glance at the blasé beige board & you know its a Euro. There is a lot of dead space on the board & no reason why the tribe cards need to partially hang off. The Siq walls are fiddly, don't function perfectly, and can damage the board inserting/removing them each play. The Temple cardboard standee/card 'holder' thingie is purely aesthetic. We leave it in the box. Trade icons, or the player boards themselves, could be a bit larger for people with old eyes/poor vision. Also this is a race to complete - which is not a favored mechanism. All that being said, I REALLY enjoy the other mechanics & puzzle of this game & would gladly play this game anytime. One of my plays was with a non-gaming couple & they grasped it easily, so its not difficult to table. Its also good at 2 player. I don't see myself getting rid of this for a long while, if ever. J likes this game. (2-4/b?)

2022-04-01 - 7 - a quick game where we race to put all the influence cubes off our player board. Mostly by getting right merchant tiles in right combination and order. Dry as, well, a desert, but it's fun to play in under an hour.

o Took long to setup. o Too many options and things to think about. Felt a bit overwhelming. o Very pretty and well produced. o I liked the action square, haven't seen that before. Other players enjoyed it but I don't think this game is for me.
