Lead the Netherlands into the Industrial Age in the latest version of the cooperative classic! It is the dawn of the Industrial Age in the Netherlands. For centuries, the country has relied upon a series of dikes and wind-powered pumps to keep it safe from the constant threat of flooding from the North Sea. But this system is no longer enough.

Interesting take on Pandemic. The gameplay is interesting and like Iberia, it feels like Pandemic with several expansions rolled into one. Both these games are excellent values for what you get. However, I prefer Iberia because the locations have readable names, it's much easier to read the map (the dikes on this one are hard to see and the tide mechanism can be hard to follow), and the rules feel less convoluted. That said, it's a fun game and you do get into it and it is quite good. If this theme speaks to you, I definitely recommend it. I love Pandemic and I understand why so many like this version. However, if I had both on my shelf, I probably would choose Iberia over it every time.

One of the strangest spinoffs from Pandemic. Here the mechanics dictate the breaching of the dikes and the flow of water over the Netherlands in a simulation of the 1953 flooding disaster. Being Belgian, this is something I can easily relate to. Very nice artwork. History lesson in a box.

Solo: maybe? Coop: yes From a 1PG member: "Pandemic: Rising Tide does things so differently, that it becomes its own game and way more interesting. The topic is also fascinating to me and fully realized in the game. The components further strengthen the implementation of the topic, and there is a good deal of replay-ability with not only the characters but also the goals available."
