Lead the Netherlands into the Industrial Age in the latest version of the cooperative classic! It is the dawn of the Industrial Age in the Netherlands. For centuries, the country has relied upon a series of dikes and wind-powered pumps to keep it safe from the constant threat of flooding from the North Sea. But this system is no longer enough.

When are these games going to get bad??? Unbelievable! The puzzle here is just lovely - might be the toughest to optimize in a Pandemic game yet. And included variants? Be still my beating heart.

Pandemic with flood water replacing diseases, building four major hydraulic installations replacing the cures and storm cards replacing pandemic ones. The game does add pumps to suck up flood water and dikes that protect from flooding while they last. Like the original Pandemic, Rising Tide's (multi-player, pretty variable) puzzle nature is too much to the fore for my taste. Production quality and artwork are both pretty good.

Yet another quality game in the Pandemic line. This one can create a different and more severe feeling of panic near the end of the game where the build up of the water becomes more and more significant to a point where it feels like it can't be stopped. I think that works for a game about flooding... I've never been in a real flood, but the game sure seems to feel like what it would if you're overwhelmed by water... in an abstract, board game kind of way.
