Lead the Netherlands into the Industrial Age in the latest version of the cooperative classic! It is the dawn of the Industrial Age in the Netherlands. For centuries, the country has relied upon a series of dikes and wind-powered pumps to keep it safe from the constant threat of flooding from the North Sea. But this system is no longer enough.

Pandemic with flood water replacing diseases, building four major hydraulic installations replacing the cures and storm cards replacing pandemic ones. The game does add pumps to suck up flood water and dikes that protect from flooding while they last. Like the original Pandemic, Rising Tide's (multi-player, pretty variable) puzzle nature is too much to the fore for my taste. Production quality and artwork are both pretty good.

Too often in this game, I felt like much of my progress was whistling in the wind compared to the flow of water which kept on falling off. The worst part of Pandemic is having a leftover action you don't know what to do with, and I felt like this happened all the time in Rising Tide: you can't take a cube out with it, because most of the time, it will just come back anyway.

We have strayed away from coops so most of ours are finding new homes. We liked this rendition but it didn't live up to the original. If you're looking for a different Pandemic try Iberia or Fall of Rome. Traded away.
