This was a good game, but having several that use the pandemic mechanics we chose to keep a few with the themes that appealed to us most.

While I enjoy Pandemic and am a big fan of Lovecraft and the Cthulhu mythos, this combination just doesn't do it for me. Really easy to get into and play, just like the standard version of Pandemic and the random Great Old Ones means that things can play out a little differently each time which is neat. The board tries to evoke doom and gloom in the artwork but the board is far too dark to see anything well enough for that feeling to really come through. An interesting experiment but it's just not for me.

Played multiple times at Washingcon. Honestly, it's better than Pandemic. I love all the changes, and I prefer the theme. Unfortunately, I don't have the kind of group who'd appreciate it - the ones who prefer simple games would just want to play Pandemic, and the ones who like more complicated games are sick of the Pandemic formula. But me, this is perfect for. I'm seriously considering buying it just to solo.
