Action Point Allowance System
Co-operative play encourages or requires players to work together to beat the game.
Cooperative Play
Hand management games are games with cards in them that reward players for playing the cards in certain sequences or groups. The optimal sequence/grouping may vary, depending on board position, cards held and cards played by opponents. Managing your hand means gaining the most value out of available cards under given circumstances. Cards often have multiple uses in the game, further obfuscating an "optimal" sequence.
Hand Management
Games with partnerships offer players a set of rules for alliances and teams. Partners are often able to win as a team, or penalties are enforced for not respecting alliances
Partnerships

120200 Wow. Its just a great expansion. In fact as an Expansion its a 10...a must have to make the base game better - especially for 2 people. With 2 players its just too easy to control the game but OTB adds a little more randomness and chaos to keep the game lively.

This addition to the original game really ups the ante to making sure that accomplishment is going to happen. Mutations, additional classes and a ton more epidemic applications that could happen really feels like pressure (good pressure). The updated box that allows for a much better storage to the base game + the expansion is a huge plus for me. I really enjoy the petri dishes that are included. I honestly can't see why I wouldn't include a least a part of this expansion into each base play. **I should note that I haven't yet had a chance to play with the bio-terrorist. I'm sure I will update once I get that experience as it is surely going to change how the feel of the overall game is originally taken in.

Have really only played with the additional roles that comes with the expansion. The additional roles and the petri dishes have made this worth while. Once I beat the game more than once or twice I'll tackle the other variations.
