I had a lot of fun playing this game. The story was great and I enjoyed the way the game evolved over time. I was frustrated by my own rules mistakes (many many) which began almost immediately and I never felt like I played a full game without mistakes. (In a normal game you would get these rules bloopers ironed out over time.) I was also frustrated by things that didn't seem as clear to me as I would have liked. I would still highly recommend the game, just pay super close attention to all the rules, especially the changes.

11-5 for the whole campaign. Not a good but we managed to get the best rank at final score. All the losses were because we mistook the "set up buildings" action as research stations only before June. In my opinion, the thematic part can be improved, as the story only unfolds and progresses in September and that the villains really don't do anything special to hinder or actually affect much of our gameplay. Pros: +legacy beginners +casual players +family +strategy beginners Cons -low on strategy and luck based (you just need to deal with what pops up on board) To sum up, as a legacy fan who owns Gloomhaven and plays about 50 games, it's not that great in gameplay compared to Gloomhaven, but as a pioneer in legacy games, it's a must-have legacy game or you can turn to season 2 if you only get to have one. (Pandemic legacy season 2 is better in my view. There is resource placement to plan and multiple interesting choices can be made in terms of strategy. Also, a far more better upgrade system. Just finished March)

7/10 -1 because there are boxes 1-8 and then ALSO doors with those same numbers. Why?! THIS IS BAD DESIGN. Why not begin the door numbers at 9? Additionally, both are numbers within a circle. Why not place box numbers within a square? THIS IS BAD DESIGN. Both numbers being within a circle caused several mistaken box/door openings. Someone opening box 8 when they shouldn't have. We missed the direction to open door 30 and therefore had no idea when to open box 7. Very frustrating. -1 for phrasing. Cards contain directions such as "Scratch this off if you have not yet opened Package 6 or 7." THIS IS BAD DESIGN. Scratch this off if both are unopened? Scratch this off if Package 6 is unopened or if Package 7 is unopened? Frustrating phrasing. -1 because we spent sooooooo much time Googling questions that were unclear in the rulebook. Player 1: "Are we allowed to do that?" Player 2: "It doesn't say..." Player 3: "I'm already Googling it"
