POTENTIAL MINOR SPOILERS Final Thoughts : This was a fun experience and I'm glad I played it. The story, while cliched and very minimal, was good enough, but not amazing. I think board games still have a ways to go with telling stories (other than Sherlock Holmes, Consulting Detective and the like which are not really board games in my opinion). I enjoyed most of the added mechanics, except I wasn't too enamoured with searches (although they fit perfectly with the story). The levelling up of characters and cards was great. We made quite a few rules mistakes, which was frustrating. The game wasn't complex, but the constantly shifting mechanics, etc meant that rules goofs are more likely to happen. On top of that, we obviously couldn't look ahead online for new rules because of spoilers. The ending was pretty anti-climatic. The main issue I have with this is the same as regular Pandemic : Sometimes the game is too easy/hard based solely on the order the cards come out. Games rarely came down to the wire unfortunately.

This game has been fantastic. It has kept both me and my wife on the edge of our seats. After most games we walked away thinking "Holy cow, I can't believe that just happened!" This is a must own game for any group.

We are in a hiatus between months at the moment. We misinterpreted a rule which probably cost us some time and a win so we'll need to reboot our memories and steel ourselves for what's to come when it gets back to the table. Back to the table and completed. Once again we did ourselves a disservice and probably lost one or two games because we re-infected with the epidemic city. Oh well! Still an amazing experience. I believe it's a jaw-dropping game design achievement.
