This was a phenomenal experience that put Legacy games on the map. Rob Daviau had done Risk: Legacy prior, but this is the one that put it on the map. I love the way new mechanisms were added to the game and the joy of discovery of the next month.

Two plays in and so far, so good. To make the most of the game, I am writing session reports about each of our plays. You can read them here. WARNING: Those reports are heavy on spoilers. So far, it feels like base game Pandemic, but even within the first game it began to feel like a different beast. Just knowing that decisions you make in one game will have lasting repercussions changes the way you think about and play the game. I'm looking forward to finding out what happens next!

If you like Pandemic you won't be disappointed. The rules and story get more complex at a rate that doesn't overwhelm or stall out. There's helpful reminder text and stickers everywhere to help when you've waited too long between games and forgot everything. Two players each playing two-handed was great, but I would also enjoy it solo. As others have noted, there is a big danger of quarterbacking, so not for all groups. If your group can handle coordinating a strategy you'll have a blast.
