Basically, it's all about what you do in the first few moves. Get that right and you are probably going to win. get that wrong and it will snowball against you. Pandemic is ok, but I am a bit bemused by the clamour about it. I'd much rather play Yggdrasil.

If you like Pandemic you won't be disappointed. The rules and story get more complex at a rate that doesn't overwhelm or stall out. There's helpful reminder text and stickers everywhere to help when you've waited too long between games and forgot everything. Two players each playing two-handed was great, but I would also enjoy it solo. As others have noted, there is a big danger of quarterbacking, so not for all groups. If your group can handle coordinating a strategy you'll have a blast.

It's just Pandemic with more rules layered on each month. I didn't find the story or the altered gameplay compelling. Some might get excited about revealing new components and rules, but for me it felt like a homework assignment; just more things to keep track of.
