This is an all-new expansion for the popular game Pandemic. You need to own Pandemic and Pandemic: On The Brink to play this expansion. Behind sealed biohazard doors, scientists race against time to sequence diseases and test cures.

Initial impressions: I'm really liking the changes this brings to the way the game plays. On the Brink has lots more content, but other than the Bioterrorist that we never use it doesn't really change the way the game is played. In the Lab makes it feel like a completely new game, which is excellent. I could even see there being times when my group wants to play without In the Lab in order to switch things up. My only concern is that the changes seem like they will really limit the usefulness of roles that are primarily useful for trading cards/acquiring sets of cards, or for reducing the number of cards needed for a cure. In our plays so far, getting players with the cards they need has been pretty easy without any trading at all.

Adds a lab board which greatly changes how cures are made in the game. I honestly thought the additional board was going to be more tedious to play with and depart from the original gameplay too much but to my surprise it actually blends well providing more options and challenges in a different way than in the base game.

Played once and seems to remove the idea of the game which is to travel and trade cards. The lab just requires actions and reduces the cards needed in hand to cure a disease.
