At the height of its power, the Roman Empire covered a vast amount of territory and brought major advancements in engineering, architecture, science, art, and literature. Corruption and economic crisis has made the empire unstable and paved the way for aggressive barbarian tribes to attack.

We have really gotten into this game. Played the original version several times, but noticed that there are few Challenges. We have developed two very interesting ones that make it more difficult to win, but add some new ways to think about how to use roles together. We hope to publish them to BGG in the near future, after a bit more tweaking. Update: in the past 3 weeks we have played it well over 40 times. Great replayability!

One of my favorite iterations of Pandemic. The dice combat is actually of minimal importance.. If your strategy is go around fighting, fighting, fighting, then you will have a difficult time of it. They key is setting up forts and legions to defend (those remove cubes without rolling the dice). This game actually gives you MORE control that vanilla pandemic. If you know you have a problem city, then defend it. You can actually prevent a cube from being placed even if the card is drawn in this game, rather than just having your fingers crossed hoping not to get a bad draw. An ingenious design!

I personally love this game, it is so much jam packed fun for a quick game. It has revitalised my love for pandemic and is an even better version than the original.
