Such a solid game. I'm in the middle of playing Legacy, however, and I'm afraid that I won't want to play "vanilla" Pandemic after that. We shall see. As far as Co-Ops go, the only real problem with base Pandemic is the tendency to have "optimal plays", which almost negates any player feeling like they are truly in control of their turns. However, this was the game that taught me how to NOT be the "alpha gamer", and let the game play out as it would in real life. That made the game much more enjoyable - even if it led to more defeats.

Rating after watching 1 game and playing 2. Fantastic! Easy to learn, compelling, fun, co-operative without 1 player dominating, great balance, excellent ability to make the game more difficult, edge of the seat tension, "we'd have won if only.....", quick to play, "lets play again"-ness, cheap, cheering on the viruses! What more could you want in a boardgame?

An excellent gateway game for anyone that might be interested in modern board gaming. Rules are simple, the roles are all important enough to make everyone feel needed. It's still a classic, but it is old enough, that there are now better gateway games coming out ever year. Even so, if you enjoy the theme, then this is still a solid game.
