The primary goal of a set collection mechanic is to encourage a player to collect a set of items.
Set Collection
Variable Player Powers is a mechanic that grants different abilities and/or paths to victory to the players.
Variable Player Powers
This mechanism requires players to select individual actions from a set of actions available to all players. Players generally select actions one-at-a-time and in turn order. There is usually(*) a limit on the number of times a single action may be taken. Actions are commonly selected by the placement of game pieces or tokens on the selected actions. Each player usually has a limited number of pieces with which to participate in the process.

I've played three times, I enjoy playing this game. Things I find lessen the game a bit: - long setup and explaining the rules to newcomers - the leader is only used for setup and is useless after that - room choice is very random, I've read some people suggest drafting the rooms and that might be better - there is very little player interaction (similar to a game like Scythe) and the "pressure" does not do much

Puzzly worker placement post-apocalyptic survival Euro game with collecting resources, engine building (rooms, survivors, upkeep, equipment) and some direct player interaction. I like: + Artwork and clear iconography. + Worker movement restrictions create thinky puzzles (similar to Holmes: Sherlock & Mycroft). + Setting: unusual combination of post-apocalyptic survival and worker placement euro game. + Nice Escalation over the course of the game (manage rooms, recruit survivors, radioactivity, and upkeep) + Variability (rooms, equipment, events, characters). Each player starts with different rooms. + Event cards are annyoing but hurt everyone the same. Players can take prevent events by spending resources. + Regular upkeep. Neutrals: # Theme is not always that consistent. # Components are a bit small. # Equipment seems to be very strong since it has no upkeep. # Pressure (Intimidate) mechanic with different strong workers (adds competitive interaction / stealing goods). The conflict also depends on the player count which will be higher in a four player game. # Advanced buildings are quite random. # Some luck of the draw: equipment cards, resource tiles. # Players need to get event cards because they provide the most victory points. I do not like: - Kickstarter exclusives. See also: * Vanatu: worker placement with direct interaction. * Argent: The Consortium: worker placement with direct interaction. * Fallout Shelter: resource management with similar setting.

Worker placement where players MUST move but fight over spaces they move to. Search towns, scavenge resources, hunt. Pressure other players in your area. Collect and feed survivors in your growing bunker.
