Card drafting games are games in which players pick cards from a limited subset, such as a common pool, to gain some advantage (immediate or longterm) or to assemble hands of cards that are used to meet objectives within the game.
Card Drafting
The primary goal of a set collection mechanic is to encourage a player to collect a set of items.
Set Collection
The simultaneous action selection mechanic lets players secretly choose their actions. After they are revealed, the actions resolve following the rule-set of the game.

An extremely clever auction game with a fairly easy line of scoring systems in 5 'suits' - each with a different combination. When you get one of each, you gain a hero of your choice - which furthers your scoring ideas. But the main cleverness is the resolution of ties (and swap the victor - neatly done) and upgrade your ability to bid. This becomes such a delightful puzzle each round with everything being beneficial, but some more than others! The only take back is the amount of table space needed - quite required with so many displays of cards! Otherwise, a really wonderful game!

This is basically a game of doing arithmetic. Most of the time, it pays off to go for green and orange which scores based on a variable multiplicative factor. Purple also increases, but is linear. Red is only valuable if you have a high gold coin, but red and blue are additive. Neutral powers add some changes which can be interesting, such as being able to chain adding multiple heroes, but I haven't played multiplayer yet. I like upgrading the bidding coins. I wish the rulebook used the solo as a tutorial. And then players can adjust the difficulty by adding the heroes in. The game is not super thematic and it is actually is more of an abstract set collection with bidding/drafting and arithmetic. I don't really like the artwork. Reminds me of Happy City. The coin mechanism is kind of unique.

2 to 5 players. 60 minutes. Competitive. Neat game of clever bidding and set-collecting, but where players also play at improving their bid-currencies during the game, and completing certain sets offers heroes that allow players to specialise scoring. Unique and fantastic art in this one, I'd love to run it at high player-counts as soon as possible. Purchased 26/07/21 from Tabletop Games VIC
