Dice rolling in a game can be used for many things, randomness being the most obvious. Dice can also be used as counters. The dice themselves can be unique and different sizes, shapes and colors to represent different things.
Dice Rolling
Play occurs upon a modular board that is composed of multiple pieces, often tiles or cards. In many games, board placement is randomized, leading to different possibilities for strategy and exploration. Some games in this category have multiple boards which are not used simultaneously, preserving table space. Unused boards remain out of play until they are required.
Modular Board
The primary goal of a set collection mechanic is to encourage a player to collect a set of items.

Preliminary rating, more plays needed. Artful with great production quality. Streamlined solo game that plays short.

The next game in the Oniverse universe. I don't play the ones I have enough right now, but something to be aware of.

Solo game. Dice and roll with dice management possibilities. Never tried the 2-played co-op variant and don't intend to. Pros: Several exp. included in game. Lot of variety in one box. Challenging enough. Stunning packaging, like all its Oniverse sibblings. Cons: The set-up might be a little bit fiddly. (Does not get to the table often mostly because of that.) Neutral : Dice might be a bit small for some, still they are good quality. Sleeved card would not fit the insert, but not enough shuffling to *need* sleeving. The «insert cover» is pretty, but can also be very annoying if you pay the game often. (Easy to remove, though) Oniverse: It was the one I was more curious to try and wanted to play more at first, but didn't get played that often, because of the set-up time. Got it back on the table after a while and it keeps getting better. I really enjoy this one.
