Wow - what an adrenaline rush! Recommend playing the training mission on the app (using an iPad, preferably). Then jump into the full game vs the app. You will then be ready to play with a ‘live’ human as the recruiter. We played three consecutive times, and are looking forward to playing again using the SHIFT packages to enhance the experience.

I was in a discussion months ago about "grail games" in the sense of games you wish existed but you haven't found. I mentioned my grail game is a hidden movement game which is actually fun, not too long, gives everyone something to do, and is balanced while giving everyone a challenge. I've always liked the idea of hidden movement, cat and mouse games, but they've always been unsatisfying, too easy, too complicated, too long, or too one-sided. I had not heard of Mind MGMT through Kickstarter or anything. My FLGS had a retail copy of this game on the shelf and I decided it looked interesting enough to give it a shot. I was so blown away by how much fun this game is. It reminds me of other games in the genre, but it gives me the experience I always hoped the other games would give but failed to. The training mission is JUST like other hidden movement games, but then when you add the Immortals and player powers, it becomes this amazing things. On top of that, there is the SHIFT system which opens the game up to a ton of possibilities. I went and ordered the Deluxe copy after playing this game 5 times in 2 days. I'm interested in the solo mode with the app. I've been getting into searching for hidden clues the game hints at (which is a whole game-outside-the-game sort of thing). Good Job to everyone involved in making this.

This game is starting out really strong. The closest I've come to hidden movement games is Star Wars: Rebellion, I'd heard that while some love games like Whitechapel they maybe overstay their welcome but this one really nails things down. Its really pretty simple, yet the modular expansions (only opened 1 so far) are clearly going to up the complexity. It's a really nice system, allowing resets if bringing in new players yet giving a lot of room for experienced groups to play around. Playtime is really solid, long enough to feel like there's meat but short enough to play 2-3x in a standard evening if you want. Only played with 2 so far which is quiet and tense, I imagine more players will maybe detract from the tension, but really amp up the social side of it, with lots of discussion whilst the recruiter tries to maintain a poker face. Starting out with an 8, but this could easily go higher if the modules really shine.
