probably the best expansion on the boardgame market.will probably play it with all the modules.also the suggested variations are great.for me the captains variation and the gold-victory point are the best.expecially more gold for vicotry points moves players to do more mission and rumors.this way it is way more fun. suggested expansion: -pls move the boring captains from the game and give us the captains of the piracy golden era.who would not like to play teach,rackham,every,vane and so many more. -i wpuld like something like a story cards/missions for the game like in firefly so it would keep it more historic and epic. then this game would be a true gem

Hands down, one of the greatest expansions ever made. I love expansions that have the "more of the same thing" mentality, and this has exactly that. More Captains, Missions, Events, everything. Also, there are some modules that slightly change the game (weather, favors) and some that are big time game changers (contraband, crew loyalty). Being able to pick and choose how to customize each game is absolutely a blast to me. What a great add-on to an already great game.

We haven't played with every expansion module yet, but several feel like they should have been part of the base game and are welcome enhancements. Definitely worth adding if you enjoy the base game. Slowly adding the modules one by one as we play.
