If the Merchants and Marauders base game hits the table regularly within your gaming group then this is a must have expansion. Seas of Glory is modular in form where you can choose which modules to add to your next game. Some of them are no brainers to add in, for example the additional events, missions, rumours, captains and glory cards. Others require a play through or two to see if you will include them in future endeavours. Also included are a couple of fixes and variant ideas to help you get something new out an already great game, my personal favourite of which is the slight nerfing of the Galleon. The new Galleon card simply reduces the maneuverability from 2 to 1 which seems like a small change but does actually balance it to the frigate, which was previously under powered in comparison. Upon getting Seas of Glory, our group then played 3 games, each adding a new set of modules to the experience, until the 3rd game which included everything. Our opinons are fairly unanimous in what we thought were good or bad additions, I will not say which we liked /disliked as I would not like to colour your opinion before you try it, I will simply say this: If you have read through all of this review to this point, then you should absolutely buy it, try it and pick your favourite parts to enhance and already great game. We will never go back to vanilla Merchants and Marauders.

I don't play the base game enough to justify this right now, but I like the game and the expansion looks fun.

Exceptional expansion. Close to the perfect M&M expansion, if only it could somehow shorten the downtime just a smidge. ------------------------------------------- Full review: http://www.miniaturemarket.com/mmseasofgloryreview.html
