In Action Point (AP) Allowance System games, each player is allotted a certain amount of points per round. These points can be spent on available actions, until the player does not have enough remaining to "purchase" any more actions.
Action Point Allowance System
Deck building/Pool building refers to a collection of related mechanisms. Players have a personal pool, or collection, of cards or tokens, that provide different actions and/or resources. A subset of those cards/tokens are randomly drawn each turn.

Hand management games are games with cards in them that reward players for playing the cards in certain sequences or groups. The optimal sequence/grouping may vary, depending on board position, cards held and cards played by opponents. Managing your hand means gaining the most value out of available cards under given circumstances. Cards often have multiple uses in the game, further obfuscating an "optimal" sequence.
Hand Management
Games with partnerships offer players a set of rules for alliances and teams. Partners are often able to win as a team, or penalties are enforced for not respecting alliances

Way too long a game for what amounts to samey activity throughout. Much house ruling is needed to greatly shorten the game in order to make it playable. Otherwise on the 4th hour in you'll be ready to flip the table on this one.

So, the figures are very nice in this, and the dice are nice (not including multiple defects that I had to run around in circles with the publisher to get replaced, so another mark off there). BUT, the game itself is pretty bad. It's the worst sort of mindless dice fest, and worst it take MUCH too long for what it is. My son got it an Origins though, so I wanted to keep playing it, so I came up with a variant where we completely ditched the entire board game part of it and just picked Bosses and used the boss battles rules almost completely intact to play a boss showdown version. It's pretty fun. Oh also, this game is kind of a rip off. They put all these extra materials in the box so that you can play up to SIX players. No one would want to play this six players. It takes WAY too long with just two or three. So, I think they mainly did it to jack up the piece count and it turn jack up the final price. Also, the "expansion" is really just 2 more guys from the base game that could have easily been put into the base game instead of the materials for SIX players. Again, another rip off.

The game can be fun and enjoyable but you just gotta play with a few of the house rules found in the community list here on BGG.
