Play occurs upon a modular board that is composed of multiple pieces, often tiles or cards. In many games, board placement is randomized, leading to different possibilities for strategy and exploration. Some games in this category have multiple boards which are not used simultaneously, preserving table space. Unused boards remain out of play until they are required.
Modular Board
Tile Placement games feature placing a piece to score VPs, with the amount often based on adjacent pieces or pieces in the same group/cluster, and keying off non-spatial properties like color, "feature completion", cluster size etc.

Enjoyed this more than I expected. I don't feel overly competitive playing it as it kinda feels semi cooperative as we are all contributing to the mega city. Looks really nice on the table. Glad I waited two years to play this with the kids as their hands are much steadier now.

It’s a neat idea but the pacing is off. Turns usually go super fast but at some point someone will need to deliver when they haven’t finished building and suddenly the game comes to a halt while players wait for them to finish their building. This wouldn’t be such an issue if everyone was working on their buildings at the same time, but inevitably one player will be waiting to get pieces before they can start constructing, but they’re stuck waiting for the player before them to finish constructing and delivering. I only played a 2 player game, but having only 2 players seemed to compound this issue. I think some kind of redesign could solve this issue and in turn make the game much more fun. Perhaps something like everyone simultaneously getting x pieces, and then everyone simultaneously getting a set time to construct their buildings before players taking turns attempting delivery would improve things?

Very fun idea, but doesn't really hold up as a game. You quickly enter a state where neither player has much they can do on their turn, but they have to take it as quickly as possible to prevent the other player from building.
