60m - 120m
2 - 4 Players

Dice rolling in a game can be used for many things, randomness being the most obvious. Dice can also be used as counters. The dice themselves can be unique and different sizes, shapes and colors to represent different things.
Dice Rolling
Variable Player Powers is a mechanic that grants different abilities and/or paths to victory to the players.
Variable Player Powers
This mechanism requires players to select individual actions from a set of actions available to all players. Players generally select actions one-at-a-time and in turn order. There is usually(*) a limit on the number of times a single action may be taken. Actions are commonly selected by the placement of game pieces or tokens on the selected actions. Each player usually has a limited number of pieces with which to participate in the process.

First impression from a M1 veteran, (well at least with 37 games played of the original, with & without exp's), I preferred #1, they rubber banded too far into an easier game. Thoughts after more plays. I definitely prefer the original. Marco II is more of any optimization puzzle with a race to the special destinations but it's still been fun to explore. There are some issues with some of the characters so we choose a good match up for two players.

It is a slant of Marco Polo, that gives a little more achievement along the way and doesn’t feel as punishing if you miss a game long goal or two.

It's fine. I think they failed to improve upon the biggest opportunities from VoMP1. Traveling is easier and more important (though the costs are a disaster), but the city cards are still mostly boring and it's hard to build much. Guild actions are actually worth pursuing. Characters are bonus soup, without too much personality. Interesting Decisions: 3/5 Fun: 4/5 Flow: 4/5 Interactivity: 3/5 Tail: 4/5 Presentation: 4/5 Overall: 7.3/10
