Card drafting games are games in which players pick cards from a limited subset, such as a common pool, to gain some advantage (immediate or longterm) or to assemble hands of cards that are used to meet objectives within the game.
Card Drafting
Pattern Building is a system where players place game components in specific patterns in order to gain specific or variable game results. For example: placing chips on 2, 4, 6, 8 on a board gets the player an action card they can use later in the game.
Pattern Building
The primary goal of a set collection mechanic is to encourage a player to collect a set of items.

An almost lovely looking game that's really limited by it's colour palette and hampered by unclear iconography making it very awkward for some players to descipher the board state easily. Gameplay is ok but once you realise that the strongest plays are most often those that limit your opponent's choices severely the game can get stale. With some changes to mandala icons to enable clarity and a more bold colour palette this would be a little better, but it won't ever be better than average in the gameplay dept. A shame, I was looking forward to playing this one.

Wants to be the next Azul, clearly. But I don't think it will get there. Grabbing tiles using the PICK action is the most interesting aspect of the game but you don't know what patterns you will be revealing - only the colors. So, where Azul has some serious interaction, control, and forward-planning in the tile draft, Mandala Stones has little to none. The tower scoring works but feels a bit forced. Looks nice on the table but it is multiplayer solitaire to an extreme.

Interesting abstract. It is quite thinky; the scoring is interesting, and the secret objectives make the game replayable. However, the components are not that great (Especially the player boards and the cards), although at first glance they might seem very nice.
