This mechanic usually requires players to pick up an item or good at one location on the playing board and bring it to another location on the playing board. Initial placement of the item can be either predetermined or random. The delivery of the good usually gives the player money to do more actions with. In most cases, there is a game rule or another mechanic that determines where the item needs to go.
Pick-up and Deliver
Tile Placement games feature placing a piece to score VPs, with the amount often based on adjacent pieces or pieces in the same group/cluster, and keying off non-spatial properties like color, "feature completion", cluster size etc.

A fairly standard Pick-up-and-deliver type game. It has a pretty board when track is down and it's somewhat interesting but also rather simple. I played a solo game to decide if I "needed" the map pack - don't think so right now. That could change once I get a multi-player game played.

I am interested in playing this game again, but the scoring really soured me on it. There are cards that mean you cannot score as many points as your opponent. So, at the start of the game, it is possible that you cannot win as a function of the game. These are the cards that score 10 points, rather than being a multiplication card that can score up to 15. Additionally, those scoring cards are for excluding a type of piece from your board. If you do include those pieces and only use them to score, you will score 15 points. But you can also include them to just take more actions per turn. So there are two whole ways that that scoring card is functionally useless. The card certainly has more utility in higher player count games but that should be NOTED ON THE CARD BY THE PUBLISHER. Suburbia, Whistle Stop, and Maglev are such fun games with such terrible scoring, it's so frustrating.

A much trickier game than I expected. This is no "Ticket to Ride." Early decisions have a major impact on your game, and a poor player will get absolutely crushed. It's an interesting system, in which you need to deliver passengers to unlock other techs and passengers, all of which are interconnected in interesting ways. The game takes a bit of time to get started, as you can't do very much on your first turns, but by the endgame you feel like you can do practically anything. It's fun. II have the feeling after a few plays the early game will become a bit scripted, but for now I find it an interesting and engaging design. UPDATE: Terrible with two players: it's WAY too long. The first 30 minutes are interesting, but once players have most of their infrastructure built, it's just a tedious slog to get through all the passengers in the bag. Problems can also develop if a certain color station isn't built and an entire color of passenger is cut out of the game.
