Very tactical game, the ever changing state of the marbles makes it hard to predict what resources will be available. This is amplified by the randomness of the building costs means you could be saving for a particular building, only to have it change to cost resources you don't have, if another player buys it before you. I am sad they didn't give the buildings names, because it makes it feel like I am trying to solve simultaneous conversion equations instead of playing a game. I like the restrictiveness of the resource storage as it forces you to build an engine and use it, instead of just collecting resources from the market. There is an enjoyable sense of escalation, as your conversion engines become more efficient, and the faith timer rushes towards the end. Decent filler game despite my misgivings. It captures the feel of the original Lorenzo, while having completely different mechanisms.

Very nice puzzle. The original game is one of my all time favs, this one haves similar vibes. The marbles makes an outstanding game. A tad to long for what it is. But still a very good filler. One real negative point is the production. For one thing its very strange to call this game the card game when it makes almost no use of cards. In the original game you take in a whole game over 20 cards, here the game ends after 7. Second the game comes in a too big box for a to high price. There is to little inside the box. It is boxed air mainly, a box size like patchwork was significant, I paid €40,- it shouldve been €25. The last thing is the real component quality, the cards are really thin, it is a shame because it is really a good game, also the goods are really tiny. In other words almost perfect game downgraded by crappy production.

First play: simple sixty minute filler with lovely mechanisms and a lot to think about. Very well designed.
