Hand management games are games with cards in them that reward players for playing the cards in certain sequences or groups. The optimal sequence/grouping may vary, depending on board position, cards held and cards played by opponents. Managing your hand means gaining the most value out of available cards under given circumstances. Cards often have multiple uses in the game, further obfuscating an "optimal" sequence.

Pattern Building is a system where players place game components in specific patterns in order to gain specific or variable game results. For example: placing chips on 2, 4, 6, 8 on a board gets the player an action card they can use later in the game.
Pattern Building
Tile Placement games feature placing a piece to score VPs, with the amount often based on adjacent pieces or pieces in the same group/cluster, and keying off non-spatial properties like color, "feature completion", cluster size etc.

It seems like a neat little card game. It also has a spatial part to it. Nothing that would ever be a favorite but friendly theme for the family. The scoring may take a moment for someone to understand. I think would be better in person rather than BGA.

Set collection game with a placement twist (when placed next to a hen of a different color the card has to be numbered one higher or lower than the other card. I guess it works but there isn't much to it.
kevan
Tough little grid-optimisation puzzle, with cards having to either match suit or be +/- 1 on every orthogonally adjacent card.
