Recieved my copy yesterday and manage to do a 2 player game, it was a lot of fun, I played as Athena and my Opponent played as Hermes. There was concerns early on as after the second turn I had a very large lead early on due to Heracles ability giving him a much better chance to defeat opponents than anyone Hermes had. By turn 5 however Hermes superior tactics allowed him to essentially wipe the board of all my heroes and come within 2 points. If there was 1 more turn he would have definitely won, and could've won with a slightly better die roll the turn before. We both agreed we want to try this again with 3 or 4 players. And then I want to try solo mode as well. I could definitely see me coming back and giving this a 10/10 at a later date.

Theme over Mechanics. Incredibly chaotic. Simple rules but the game is really all in the cards you draw (think small paragraphs of text that allow you to break rules and do crazy things to other players – it’s that kind of game). Between the cards you draw and the dice rolling, it’s completely random: for 60-120 min that is too long. Some cards make other player’s minions/gods/whatever fight amongst themselves before the big battles begin. Other cards let you take other players minions away from them before the big battles (after you've taken the time to set them up). Completely random take-that play. So much “Take-That” in this game. One can’t really develop any strategy during the game. In our group, the most experienced player (who brought the game) lost because we all just attacked him and there wasn’t anything he could do to mitigate or protect himself (perhaps because he brought the game and made us play in the first place). In that kind of situation, there really wasn’t anything he could do (does that mean the game is broken?) Kleos is just players playing randomly drawn cards and rolling dice to attack each other. Perhaps if some are really in to the theme of the game it might be for them, but for this kind of gods-going-out-and-fighting I would recommend Kemet or Cyclades. For ‘craziness” in rolling dice in games would actually go with King of Tokyo.

Playtested at Metatopia 2019. Super solid game with gorgeous art. Each God's deck fits their personality/domain and encourages a play style to match. (Ares is aggressive, Athena is tactical etc.) I suspect it will have high replayability due to different ways to win on the board as well as Gods having different strategies and strengths/weaknesses.
